Sleep Cycle - Tracks your sleep patterns for a more refreshed wake up!
Have you noticed that sometimes you wake up feeling really good and other times you just feel tired. Studies have shown that being woken up suddenly and out of a deep sleep can make you feel tired and groggy in the morning. If this is you in the morning maybe you should try an iPhone app called Sleep Cycle.
Sleep Cycle is an iPhone app that uses it's accelerometer to track your movements in your bed. You place the phone on the corner of the bed, under the fitted sheet prevents it from moving around, so it can track your movements. It uses this data to track your sleep cycle allowing it to choose a time, in a 30 minute window, to better wake you. When it finds you're in your lightest sleep it gently wakes you with one of several soothing alarms. This increases your chance of waking up feeling refreshed and not tired or groggy.
The app can also give you an insight into your night's sleep presenting a graph of your sleep cycle. This allows you to change different variables concerning you sleep habits and see how they effect your sleep.
The app isn't a scientific tool and people with serious sleep problems shouldn't rely on it's data to help them, but if you're curious about how well you sleep at night you should give it a try. It's only $.99 on the app store so it's worth it if not just for fun.
